Shortly before Christmas, the government began consulting on a number of changes to the National Planning Policy Framework (usually known as the NPPF or the Framework). The majority of the proposed changes are ones that will impact on housing supply, covering issues like how local authorities decide their housing targets, the role of the green belt in delivering new homes, and how neighbouring authorities work together.
The net result of those changes will be fewer new homes being built.
Alongside those amendments, there is also potential new wording for policies that relate to the delivery of renewable energy developments and solar farms in particular. They, too, could make delivering these crucial projects more difficult.
