As part of its efforts to Build Beautiful, the government recently published a National Model Design Code, setting out how Local Authorities can best manage the form and appearance of new developments.

In this episode of the 50 Shades of Planning podcast our managing director, Paul Smith, discussed what it means with host Sam Stafford and URBED's Vicky Payne - who helped write the code. Louise Wood, of Cornwall Council, and Ben Woolnough, of East Sussex Council, were also on hand to provide a local authority perspective.
