The government recently published updated land use change statistics which, amongst other things, show the previous use of sites that have now been developed for new homes.
Some commentators suggested the figures show in decline in the rates to development on brownfield land. However a closer look at the figures reveals a different picture altogether – and highlights why brownfield land might not be the simple solution to the housing crisis that some people think it is.
