Solar farms are an increasingly popular way for farmers to utilise their land in a way which produces a guaranteed annual income - often in conjunction with a continued agricultural use.

Not every site is suitable for a solar farm scheme however. The site's physical characteristics, as well as technical considerations about the local electricity network, can both have an impact on the suitability of land.

Our managing director, Paul Smith, spoke to Farm Diversity magazine and explained exactly what makes a site suitable for solar farm development, and how you can go about delivering a project on your land.
