This greenfield site of around 15 acres is located on the edge of the village of Auckley, within the Doncaster Council area.

The site is located outside of the current settlement boundary for the village and development would therefore normally be prevented. However, Doncaster Council are currently in the process of preparing a new Local Plan to guide development in the borough over the next 15 years. That provides an opportunity to try to secure a development allocation for the site.

Doncaster is heavily constrained with most of the borough being either Green Belt or designated as Flood Zones by the Environment Agency. Auckley is one of the few settlements in the borough that is free from both of those constraints. It therefore represents a logical, sustainable choice for new development.

The Strategic Land Group will be promoting the site through the new Local Plan process. Once an allocation for the site is confirmed, which isn't likely to be before 2019, a planning application can be submitted.
